Sol Aramendi is a New York based Argentinean artist working
in new media, photography and video.
Her videos and installation always revolve around concepts
of immigration, homeland, cultural diversity and femininity.
Her work has been shown at various venues in New York, Buenos Aires,
Berlin, Los Angeles, Tolouse, Barcelona, Madrid, Utrecht, and Split.
She has been invited to be a panelist in Art shows in Croatia and Netherlands .
She is an art educator at El Museo de Barrio, Queens Museum of Art and has
developed a photography school for Spanish immigrants at Local Project Art Space
in Queens.
She believes in art teaching as a tool that connects people with the community,
opening a dialogue of understanding and social strength, as well as a vehicle
to help explore identity issues.
